Positions available include:

  • President

    1. Be the official representative and figurehead for the AADE-UH Student Section and ultimately responsible for the vision, direction, operations, and all Board’s responsibilities not otherwise delegated.

    2. Preside as the Director of the Executive Board; must set and lead Executive Board meetings.

    3. Ensure the AADE-UH Student Section remains a recognized student organization.

    4. Promote collaboration with other professional UH Petroleum Engineering Department related organizations as leader of UH Petro Alliance initiative.

    5. Maintain Involvement with the Petroleum Engineering Department. 

    6. Understand how every role in the organization operates to assist other Officers in their roles as needed. 

    7. Prepare and submit a complete and detailed annual report of the AADE-UH Student Section at the last regular meeting of the year, and forward it to the AADE Houston Chapter upon approval by the Executive Board and certification by the Faculty Advisor.

    8. Maintain continuous and open communication with all Officers on the ideas and events to promote the section.

    9. Update specific duties to the President in the AADE-UH Google Drive.

    10. President shall be informed and involved in all decision events relating to the organization to ensure consistent, clear, and effective communication.

  • Vice President - Internal Affairs (VPI)

    1. Plan, schedule, and organize all AADE-UH events at the University of Houston campus. This includes, but is not limited to: collaboration events, general meetings, Cougar Paw Meetings, campus events, mock interviews, etc.

    2. Communicate with the other Officers when scheduling events to avoid conflicts.

    3. Communicate effectively with AADE-UH board, members, and the school faculty to ensure successful events.

    4. Update specific duties to the VPI in the AADE-UH Google Drive.

  • Vice President - External Affairs (VPE)

    1. Plan, schedule, and organize all AADE-UH events outside of the University of Houston campus. This includes, but is not limited to: social events, workshops, company tours, volunteering events, etc.

    2. Maintain effective communication between board, student body, and faculty to ensure successful events and avoid scheduling conflicts.

    3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UH policies regarding all organizational meetings and hosted events and communicate such policies effectively to AADE-UH Members, Officers, and Faculty Advisor.

  • Treasurer

    1. Receive and disburse chapter funds as approved when necessary by the Faculty Advisor; this includes, but is not limited to: supplies, t-shirts, catering, spirit cords, etc.  

    2. Responsible for the AADE-UH’s bank account; maintain, upload, and archive all receipts to the AADE-UH Google Drive.

    3. Generate/maintain AADE-UH Chapter’s budget. Manage budget and supplies through fundraising events throughout the year. Communicate allowable expenditures with the other officers for planning events.

    4. Develop fundraising plans and gather sponsorships for events.

    5. Update specific duties to the Treasurer in the AADE-UH Google Drive.

  • Secretary

    1. Record and Upload After Action Reviews (AAR’s) within the correct folders in the AADE-UH Google Drive. 

    2. Maintain Officer and membership roster.

    3. Publicize chapter meetings and activities to student body and faculty via methods such as: email mailing lists, newsletters, flyers, and social media.

    4. Update and maintain AADE-UH official website.

    5. Update specific duties to the Secretary in the AADE-UH Google Drive.

General requirements for Officers include:

President:

  • Must have served in an officer or a chair role for at least a year.

Other Requirements:

  • Communicate effectively.

  • Professional.

  • Team player.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Available for monthly officer meetings.

  • Be able to participate in the majority of AADE events, including general meetings, mock interviews, tailgates, Sporting Clay Tournament, volunteering events.
